New Zealand Fashion Week and Whitecliffe are opening the door to the fashion industry with a brand-new NZFW Internship Programme launching in 2026.
Designed for the next generation of creatives, this opportunity gives Whitecliffe students real-world experience behind the scenes at NZFW - from production and backstage operations to show support and event delivery. It’s where learning meets industry, and where future careers begin.
As NZFW’s official education partner, Whitecliffe is renowned for their fashion programme, producing industry-ready graduates with strong creative and technical foundations. This partnership bridges education and experience - giving students access to one of the most influential platforms in New Zealand fashion.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Successful interns will gain hands-on experience across NZFW, with opportunities to be involved in:

Applicants must:
Be enrolled in a Whitecliffe fashion programme for the 2026 academic year
Be 18 years or older
Be available during New Zealand Fashion Week in August 2026
Be able to commit to assigned internship shifts during the event
Be available to attend the Volunteer Briefing in August 2026

This internship programme is open to students across relevant disciplines who are eager to gain real industry experience.

Simple 3-step process:
Submit your application online (applications open early April)
Applications are reviewed by NZFW and Whitecliffe
Successful interns notified mid-June
Applications are open from mid-March for Whitecliffe students enrolled in 2026 programmes.

The NZFW Internship Programme is an unpaid industry experience opportunity designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to fashion week operations.

No previous experience is required. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable students eager to learn about the fashion industry.

There is one placement available. Selection will be made by a panel including Whitecliffe faculty and the NZFW team.
