A celebration of contemporary Chinese design, this show features two renowned Chinese labels - Gu Axin and J by HO.
Gu Axin
Gu Axin, an Eastern ethnic brand rooted in China, has launched a fashion movement called “Guizhou Village T” in remote mountain villages — bringing the runway to terraced fields and ancient wind-rain bridges, where the silver ornaments and folk songs of embroiderers become the backdrop, and age-old motifs are reborn amidst soil and rice fragrance.
Now, Gu Axin brings the spirit of “Guizhou Village T” to New Zealand Fashion Week for the very first time, presenting an Eastern ethnic couture spectacle to the Southern Hemisphere. On our runway models wil walk alongside village embroiderers and ethnic dancers, wearing both their hand-stitched wedding heirlooms and contemporary designs, in a dialogue that transcends time and space.

Hao Jia, a China Top Ten Designer, has been deeply rooted in the fashion industry for over two decades. J BY HO is an independent designer high-street brand that emphasises the interpretive power of its products.
The Reign Robe collection is crafted for those who shine in their independence - no deliberate softness, no performative grace. Every stitch speaks of confidence and strength; every gown redefines the true attitude of the queen: poised, sophisticated, radiant, and irreplaceable. Expect extended trains, mermaid silhouettes, and precision tailoring, paired with cascading haute couture pearl jewelry that chimes with each step.

Lift Access: A passenger lift is available for access to all levels of the venue.
Accessible Toilets: Shed 10 has accessible toilets and there is directional signage indicating where these toilets are located in the venue.
Public Transport: Shed 10 is close to the ferry terminal and Britomart Transport Centre, making it easily accessible by public transport.
Drop-off Point: A drop-off point for taxis and rideshares is located directly across from the building.
Parking: The Downtown and Britomart car parks are nearby, with the Downtown carpark a 10-minute walk from the venue.
Please note that some designer shows may last anywhere from 8 minutes to 12 minutes for the actual show length. NZFW owned shows and group shows are typically 30 - 40 mins in duration.
Guests are encouraged to come early and enjoy the hospitality onsite both pre- and post-show.
