Quirky and youthful, Ruby is a street wear label recognised for its playful approach to design, and for being pretty cute, but with a bit of tomboy. Beautiful collisions of prints and colour, and slick attention to detail make Ruby uniquely outstanding from her New Zealand counterparts.
From their workroom in the outskirts of Central Auckland, the small team at Ruby work hard to stock 5 self-titled boutiques in New Zealand, including an online store, as well as wholesaling throughout the country. Ruby is beginning to develop the brand in Australia and beyond, and their salon show at this year’s New Zealand Fashion Week is expected to push the boat further still.
Recent press includes extensive coverage in prominent New Zealand media including Fashion Quarterly, REMIX and No Magazine, with the most recent 2 collections hitting the blogisphere with force. Write ups on Refinery29, Rumi Neely’s Fashion Toast, and NBC New York reflect the brands ever-growing success, the latter describing the label as ‘some of the most talented up-and-comers in the biz’, and the pieces ‘so perfectly of-the-moment’.
